Rheological and rheo-optical behaviors of nanocellulose suspensions containing unfibrillated fibers

We investigated the relationship between concentration of nanosized fibers and rheological rheo-optic behaviors CNF suspensions containing unfibrillated prepared by a wet refinement system (Water Jet System). The behaved as gel in which entropic elasticity was dominant, entanglement among would be enhanced with fiber volume fraction. aggregates elongated flow direction deformed into elliptical shape applied shearing. However, effect these changes barely observed on viscosity curve. speculate that this is due to Newtonian (> 25% volume) playing significant role overall behavior suspensions. In conclusion, for poorly fibers, we speculated were largely responsible linear response under micro-deformation nonlinear such shear flow, respectively.
